What exactly is Mentor My Career? +
It's a dedicated 1-on-1 career consulting programme with Lee Cabrera. Unlike Mentor My Production (which focuses on the craft of making tracks), Mentor My Career focuses entirely on your journey in the music business, your direction, goals, label strategy, business affairs, and next steps as an artist.
Who is this for? +
Any artist who is serious about building a career in music, whether you're an emerging producer with demos ready to pitch, an established artist looking to grow, or someone navigating the business side of music for the first time. If you want honest, experienced guidance on your next move, this is for you.
How does the scheduling work? +
After booking, we'll contact you to set up an initial goal-setting call (not counted as one of your four sessions). Your four 1-hour sessions are then scheduled weekly at times that suit you, across US and European timezones. Sessions take place via Zoom or Google Meet.
Will Lee actually help me get connected to industry people? +
Where Lee genuinely sees potential and the timing is right, he will personally work to connect you with relevant people from his network. There are no guarantees in the music business, but there are relationships, and Lee has built many over 20+ years. This is offered where applicable, not as a universal promise.
Do I need to have finished tracks? +
Not necessarily. You should come with your music in whatever state it's in, demos, finished tracks, or even just ideas. Lee will give you honest feedback at any stage and advise on whether and how to move them forward.
Can I record my sessions? +
Yes, absolutely. We encourage you to record every session so you can refer back to the advice and guidance at any time.
